[5] Syllables

💡
In this lesson, you will practice segmenting words into their component syllables. In the practice videos, the speaker will say a word, then say the syllables. After the word, pause the video, mimic the word, and then attempt the syllables yourself, before proceeding. When you’ve finished segmenting all the words, post to #completions.

💡
Be sure to continue practicing these syllable segments until it makes sense to you. If you still can’t figure out how to break down a word into syllables, then you won’t be able to do the next part properly. But if you are able to syllable segment correctly as we show here, then the next thing is to break those syllables into its component parts - Phonemes. That is what we do in the next lesson.
