Catching Syllables in Rhythm

đź’ˇ
Mimicking is not just about making the same movements as the natives, it’s about making those movements at the same time. In this activity, you will see if you can move in time to “Catch” each individual syllable of the phrase. The movement we will perform is the movement of a hand clap. Your task is to anticipate the occurrence of each syllable, then time the clapping of your hands with that moment, with as much precision as you can. To perform this task correctly, you will need to relax into a trance state, and allow your body to takeover instead of your overthinking mind. If you think too much, you will hesitate or jump in too quickly. Don’t think, just catch. Then once you feel you’ve caught a syllable well enough, try to catch the next syllable, and the next and the next until you can catch each one separately. For extra challenge, you can try full speed, but it is enough for now to only train slow speed. Practice with the sentences and share your experience in #completions.
