English Consonants

đź’ˇ
We divide the English consonants into two broad categories. The “Common Consonants” are consonants that exist in a wide variety of languages, and thus don’t require as much practice to articulate (this will of course depend on the learner and their native language). The “Uncommon Consonants” are those consonants that do not exist in most languages outside of English, and thus are most likely to be difficult for speakers to articulate. First, focus your attention on mastering the articulation of the uncommon consonants. Then work your way through the common. Finally, go through “All Consonants by Place” - as this will give you greater general spatial awareness and tactile discernment over all the consonant sounds in the language. Once you’ve gone through everything, post to #completions
