Moving vowels (technically known as “diphthongs”) start in one tongue position and end in another. So it’s important to have precise start and end points, as well as a fast and clean transition between.
We divide the german moving vowels into four groups. The first three groups are references to the still vowels prior - we are just now adding an end position to them.
